Fractional HR Leadership for San Diego Companies
If you run a San Diego company with 12 to 350 employees and no HR person, you get CPO level judgment from Bill Brown, a defined 90 day build, and someone who actually picks up when an employee issue can't wait.
What the Work Looks Like
Lounge, restaurant and nightclub
A San Diego lounge, restaurant and nightclub was growing from a one person operation into a real team. I set up compliant payroll through ADP and wrote the offer for their first General Manager. I also ran the ABC test on each role, so nobody was misclassified before California comes asking.
Fitness studio group, several states
A California fitness studio group with locations in several states had just as many handbooks, all started from the same template and drifted apart. Their intro periods, no show rules and tardiness rules didn't match, and their incident logs showed the cost.
- I built one documentation and termination process that works the same at every studio.
- I wrote one handbook that covers all states.
- I folded the new process into the instructor manual.
Now they're opening other California studios and converting their contractor instructors to employees, with the onboarding built before day one.
California Rules, Covered
The California rules that trip up small companies, from final pay to leave to the written safety plan most employers now need, are broken down on my California fractional HR page. And if you're new to this, here's how fractional HR leadership works.
