Fractional HR Leadership for San Francisco and Northern California Companies

If you run a San Francisco or Northern California company with 12 to 350 employees and no HR person, you get CPO level judgment from Bill Brown, a defined 90 day build, and someone who actually picks up when an employee issue can't wait.

    What the Work Looks Like

Employment law firm, under 40 people

A California employment law firm of under 40 people, with offices in San Francisco and LA, brought me in as their HR partner. I've worked alongside the managing partner on the people side of the firm ever since, covering performance, policies and the tough employee calls a growing firm runs into.

The biggest build was an attorney performance framework. It has no more than four KPIs per level, clear triggers for a partner review, and seniors held accountable for their juniors' dockets, so partners walk into the hard talk with facts.

    California Rules, Covered

The California rules that trip up small companies, from final pay to leave to the written safety plan most employers now need, are broken down on my California fractional HR page. And if you're new to this, here's how fractional HR leadership works.
